THE FILM
White Sister. Remember that name. That’s the name of the band that will kick your ass all over town during the opening segment of this movie. Oh yeah, it’s all there: red spandex pants, greasy mullets, and guitar solos played on knees and without strings. The guy on the keys (also wearing the previously mentioned stretch pants) has leg kicks like you’ve never seen. This opening came out of nowhere and had me on the floor. If I pressed “stop” after the first five minutes, I would be hard pressed to find a better movie anywhere in the world. After that initial shock, I had to face reality...

Boredom sets in. I soon faced an hour or so of sorority hazing and “guess who the killer is” b.s. The hanging-together-by-a-thread-plot went something like this:

There are three college girls -- Jen, Viv, and Phoebe -- who are rushing a sorority. Uhhhh...we’re subjected to their incredibly boring activities while we learn that an old abandoned frat house on campus is haunted. Because it’s a really hip thing to do, the girls and their sorority decide to hold an April Fool’s costume party at the house after hazing is completed. After some slick dancing and make out sessions, things get interesting. In other words, when the party kicks in, so does the movie. Thrill to many killings (most of them bloodless) and a total Evil Dead rip off towards the end.

Overall, not too bad. This is your typical mid-80s slasher with a little blood, some T&A, and the best damn band you’ve ever seen in your life.

AUDIO AND VIDEO
The picture quality wasn’t too bad for an ‘86 tape. The sound was recorded pretty loud. This was perfect-o when cranking it up and cracking the ceiling while White Sister was wailing. The box was really beat up.

EXTRAS
No trailers or anything.

FINAL THOUGHTS
If you’re looking for a time wasting slasher, you could do much, much worse (ie Final Exam). If nothing else, rent Killer Party for White Sister. I’m sure they could use the royalties.
